A young skier chooses NTC chondrograft®
„A young skier damaged his knee cartilage while skiing. The loosened part of the cartilage was removed arthroscopically by a physician, and it was used to create new healthy tissue. The cartilage cells (chondrocytes) were released under clean laboratory production conditions. The cells were multiplied and connected to a suitable carrier. Subsequently, the new cartilage was sent to the physician, who grafted the „chondrograft“ back onto the damaged spot in the joint cavity. The cartilage healed easily and sealed the damaged joint fissure into normal healthy cartilage.
Thanks to the operation, the young man will once again be able ski, just as before. A similar path may be followed by patients with many other indications, which are already amenable to treatment with Advanced Therapy. The key is to use materials occurring naturally in the human organism - the body's own cells in combination with leading know-how. “
A successful cooperation with the Burns Unit at the University Hospital Brno
„The Burns Unit at the University Hospital Brno contacted us immediately after the hospital received an older patient without consciousness, as she burned herself with hot water while taking a shower. The patient suffered with severe burns on the upper part of her chest and her head. As she is generally diagnosed as a patient with a clotting disorder, in addition to severe diabetes, a chance that the burns are to heal by itself was indeed small. Subsequently, therefore, doctors from the University hospital Brno contacted the National Cell and Tissue Centre and requested cultured skin grafts from donor cells. The patient´s skin excellently accepted the donor cells, which has helped the patient to overcome the crisis and helped the healing process and recovery.“
